Back in 1977, there were no fitness garments designed for the special needs of women athletes. That changed when two women runners, then in their 20s, hit upon an idea for a business that today makes the highly regarded and immensely popular Moving Comfort bras.
Moving Comfort bras are backed by the three-part philosophy that has gone into every garment made in the company’s 30 years of existence:
Make fitness clothes that move well with a woman’s movements.
Make clothes with quality materials and construction methods.
Make clothes that are comfortable so that women will be encouraged to keep fit, because fitness affects everything in life.
Moving Comfort Bras Are Made To Give Women Quality And Fit
With this philosophy as its foundation, Moving Comfort bras have developed into several styles to meet women’s different fitness clothing needs. In particular, the bras have been designed to give women athletes the shape and support they need during vigorous activity in order to reduce or eliminate vertical movement that can be damaging to a woman’s breasts.
For instance, Moving Comfort’s Fiona model features a number of ways to adjust the bra’s fit to meet a woman’s particular shape. The front straps are adjustable for the right level of lift to the bra cups. Three rows of hook-and-eye fasteners also have three positions to allow the wearer to make the band as snug as she wishes. The Fiona model is designed to encapsulate each breast separately to support and stabilize larger breasts, a feature essential to well-endowed women who wear D and DD cups. The Fiona model’s molded interior cups also provide extra support for those who play high-impact sports such as basketball, volleyball, tennis or racquetball. One-way Powermesh fabric makes up the front yoke of the Fiona model so that “bounce” is further reduced.
Moving Comfort’s Calli Advanced Concept Sports Bra is a new model that caters to energetic women who wear sizes C-D-DD-E cups. The Calli uses both compression and encapsulation to restrict bounce and save strain on delicate breast tissue. Breast movement stabilizes even more with the help of wide front straps that distribute the weight of the breasts and keep the wearer comfortable.
Another new Moving Comfort model, the Grace, has been created especially for athletes in high-impact sports that wear C/D/DD-cup bras. An inner sling made of Powermesh enhances the bra’s molded front lining to give extra support and shaping. The Grace also has a racer back to allow full range of motion and a zip-front style for ease of dressing.
Moving Comfort bras also come in versions for women who enjoy medium-impact activities, such as cycling on roads or moderate hiking. Moving Comfort’s Calypso Sports Bra also is constructed with encapsulation and compression, the method most recommended to limit vertical movement for women who wear C/D cup sizes. Power panels on the bra’s cups and sides add support and shape, while cushioned straps take the stress off the athlete’s shoulders. A woman who wears the Calypso model also benefits from Moving Comfort’s exclusive DriLayer fabric technology that wicks moisture to the outside of the garment, where it quickly evaporates. This way the wearer stays drier so she can move in comfort, just as Moving Comfort intends.
